Sell at the till

Add items to the cart, choose how the customer pays, then press Complete sale: stock leaves the store and the money goes into the register.

Who this is for: Cashier Manager Owner
Last reviewed:

At the Point of sale you scan or pick items, take the customer's money and complete the sale. On completion the quantities leave the store, the money goes into the register or bank that the tender settles to, and the sale is linked to the open shift.

Before you start

  • A Cashier, Manager or Owner can sell at the till.
  • If the company requires a shift to sell, open one first, as in Open a cashier shift.
  • If the company has more than one store, pick the store you sell from in the list at the top of the screen.
  • If the company requires a customer, the sale cannot complete until you choose one.

Add items to the cart

  1. Open Overview → Point of sale.
  2. Scan the item's barcode, type its SKU or name in Scan or type SKU, or tap it in the Items list. If the item has variants, such as size and colour, a Choose a variant window opens so you can pick one.
  3. Change the Quantity on the item's line if the customer takes more than one. To drop a line, press Remove.
  4. Check the Grand total at the bottom of the Cart, then press Continue to payment.

The stock on hand shows under each item. An item marked Out of stock can only be added if the company allows selling beyond stock.

Take payment and complete the sale

  1. Leave the customer as Walk-in, or search for the customer by name or mobile and select them. For someone not on file, press the + button (New customer) and add them without leaving the screen.
  2. Choose the Tender: Cash, Card, Transfer, or another method the company has turned on.
  3. Sahab fills Amount paid now with the receipt total. Leave it as it is if the customer pays everything.
  4. For cash, enter the Amount tendered by the customer, and the Change due appears. If they paid the exact amount, press No change.
  5. Press Complete sale. The Sale completed window shows the receipt number, the total and the change.
  6. Press New sale to serve the next customer, Print receipt if they want a copy, or View receipt to see its details.

If the company chose Print automatically, the receipt opens for printing after every sale. If it chose Do nothing, Print receipt does not show in the window, so print from View receipt.

To empty the cart without selling, press Cancel sale and confirm in the Discard cart? window. This cannot be undone.

Note: If Complete sale stays unavailable, Sahab writes the reason above it, such as Add an item to the cart before completing the sale. Fix what it asks for, then complete the sale.

Tip: If you see Sale not saved — connection lost, check the connection and press Retry. If the sale did go through, it is not recorded twice.
