Open orders
Keep the sale in progress under Open orders so you can serve the next customer, then come back and complete it when its customer is ready.
If a customer is not ready to pay, or goes to fetch another item, do not cancel their cart. Press New order: the sale in progress is kept under Open orders and the till is free for the next customer. When they come back, you pick up their order where you left it.
Before you start
- Everyone who sells at the till can use open orders.
- Open orders are shared across the whole shop: your colleagues see your order and can continue or discard it.
- An open order is not a sale: no stock leaves the store and no money enters the drawer until Complete sale.
Keep the sale in progress
- Add items to the cart as usual. An empty cart cannot be kept as an order.
- Press New order under the cart. The Open another order? window appears.
- In Label (optional), type something that reminds you of the order, such as the customer's name or a description of the item.
- Press Open another order. You see Added to Open orders. The till is ready for the next customer. and the cart empties.
The order keeps its items and quantities, the customer, discounts, notes and the tender you chose.
Continue an open order
- Press Orders next to the Cart heading. It shows how many orders are open.
- In the Open orders panel, each order shows its label or Untitled order, the customer or Walk-in, its item count, time and total. Your own orders say Opened by you.
- Press Continue on the order. Its cart comes back on screen with an Open order badge.
- Finish the sale and press Complete sale. The order is removed from Open orders automatically.
If you need to set it aside again, press New order again; Sahab saves your changes to the same order. If you see Some items are no longer in the catalogue and were not restored., check the cart before completing.
Discard an open order
- In the Open orders panel, press Discard on the order.
- The Discard open order? window appears. Press Discard to confirm.
Discarding an open order changes no stock and no money, because the sale never completed.
Note: An order here is a till sale that is not finished yet, not a purchase order to a supplier.
