Review offline sales

Some sales rung offline need a look once they reach Sahab; a manager reviews them in Offline sales to review and records a decision.

Who this is for: Manager Owner
Last reviewed:

Sahab checks every offline sale again when it arrives. Most are recorded without a question, and some need a look, such as a sale beyond stock because another register sold the last unit meanwhile. Sahab never deletes such a sale or loses its cash; it puts it in Offline sales to review until you decide.

Before you start

  • A Manager or the Owner reviews these sales. Each reason has its own permission: a sale beyond stock goes to whoever has Approve selling below zero stock, and a shift closed before syncing to whoever has Review drawer differences.
  • A cashier does not review their own sale while someone else in the company has the permission.

Where to find sales to review

  • Open Sales → Approvals inbox, and on the Waiting for me tab look for Offline sales to review after sync.
  • Or press the link in the till's notice after syncing, which opens Offline sales to review.

The page has two tabs: Waiting and Reviewed. The Why column says why the sale needs a look. If the Sale column reads Not recorded yet, there is no sale in the books so far.

Two kinds of reason

A recorded sale, whose page shows The sale was recorded.: the sale is in the books and the stock, and you review it to know what happened. Reasons include:

  • Sold beyond stock while offline
  • Shift closed before the sale synced
  • Sold after the offline window ended
  • Discount above the limit without approval

A sale not recorded, whose page shows The sale is not recorded yet; the cash shows as a drawer difference until you decide. Reasons include:

  • Total differs from the till
  • Item, account or register no longer available
  • Outside what offline selling allows
  • Sold after the device was revoked

Record a decision

  1. Press the reference in the Offline reference column. The sale's page opens with the cashier, Till device, Rung at, Synced at and Details.
  2. If the sale was recorded, press its number under Sale and check the receipt.
  3. Decision shows the choice available for this reason: Reviewed — keep the sale for a recorded sale, or Dismiss — do not record the sale for one that was not.
  4. Write the Reason. It is required to dismiss, at least three characters.
  5. Press Record. Review recorded. shows, and the page shows your decision, who reviewed it and when. The sale moves to Reviewed.

Note: Dismissing deletes nothing. The offline sale, your decision and your reason are kept, and the cash the cashier took stays as a drawer difference for whoever reviews drawer differences.
