Branches and country packages

Add your company's branches with their stock locations, registers and accounts, and set the country of legal registration and the country package whose statutory content your accountant enters and signs off.

A branch is one of your company's shops: every stock location and register belongs to one, and accounts can too. Country packages shows your country of legal registration and the statutory content your accountant or local adviser signs off.

Before you start

  • Both pages need Change company settings; changes in country packages need Manage country packages. Both are the owner's.
  • Every company starts with one branch, the Main branch. While you have only one branch, Sahab hides branch options on every screen.

Add a branch

  1. Open Workspace → Configuration Studio → Branches and press Manage branches.
  2. Press New branch.
  3. Type the Branch name. The Code is optional: capital English letters, digits and dashes, not used by another active branch.
  4. If you want it to be your main branch, tick Make this the main branch. New stock locations, registers and shifts with no branch chosen go to the main branch.
  5. Press Save branch. To change a branch later, press Edit in its row.

What belongs to each branch

On the Branches page the main branch carries a Main badge. Under each branch are three lists: Stock locations, Registers and Branch accounts. Add to them with Add stock location or Add register; Add account appears under a branch once you have two or more active branches. A new branch needs its own active stock location before it can sell or hold stock.

Shared accounts holds the cash boxes and bank accounts every branch uses.

Archive a branch

If you close a shop, press Archive in its branch's row. You can't archive the main branch, or a branch that still has an active stock location, register or account, an open shift, or a stock transfer that isn't finished. The reasons appear under Cannot archive yet. An archived branch shows Archived, and Restore brings it back.

Country of registration and the country package

Links to Country packages appear only in certain cases:

  • On Home, the Activate your country package item of the setup checklist, with its Open country packages button. It shows to a company that pays salaries in Sahab when its country's package has statutory payroll items.
  • On the Legal details page, with Change in Country packages. That page opens from the checklist's Add your legal details item, while it shows.
  • In Payroll components, with Open country packages, while there's no active package with signed-off payroll content. And in Payroll runs under Payroll setup before you confirm it, if your country has a package not yet activated.

At the top, Sahab does not certify compliance reminds you that Sahab sets no rate, threshold or legal rule; whoever signs statutory content off answers for it.

  1. Under Country of legal registration, check the country next to Registered in. Interface language, currency and time zone never decide it.
  2. To change the country, pick from Choose a country, type the Reason for the change, then press Change country. This locks after the first recorded document or package activation.
  3. On your country's package card, review Readiness: each area shows its Content status and what is In effect today. Packages for other countries show Not applicable.
  4. Under Statutory payroll content, press Record a new version, enter the items as your adviser wrote them, then press Record version (draft). The package shows Content pending sign-off.
  5. After your accountant or adviser reviews the version outside Sahab, press Record sign-off. Type Signed off by (accountant / localization adviser), Credential reference and Source reference, tick the confirmation, then press Record sign-off.
  6. Press Activate package and confirm; the package becomes Active.

A recorded version never changes; record a new one to correct it. History at the bottom of the page shows everything that happened.

Note: Activating doesn't mean your company is compliant, and you can't undo it from this page. Whoever recorded the content doesn't activate the package themselves if another member has the permission.
