Finish setting up your company
The Finish setting up your company list on Home reminds you what a new company still needs, and each item ticks itself off once you've done it.
After you create the company, Home shows the Finish setting up your company list. It holds what's left before your company runs fully on Sahab, and nothing in it stops you selling. When you finish an item it ticks itself off and leaves the list; when every item is done, the list goes away.
Before you start
- The list shows to people who manage the company's settings: the company Owner, and anyone the owner gives that permission.
- A bar at the top of the list shows how many items are done out of the total.
The items
Each item has a button that opens the page where you do it:
- Add your products: press Add a product. Done once you add your first item of your own.
- Bring in opening balances: press Open opening balances. Here you enter the stock you hold, the cash in registers and banks, and what customers owe you and you owe suppliers on the day you start. Done once you approve the opening balances; it shows only to people who can enter them.
- Invite your team: press Invite someone. Done once you add someone besides you to the company.
- Accountant review of accounts and posting: press Open posting mapping. Done once your accountant reviews the chart of accounts and approves the posting mapping.
- Add your legal details: press Add legal details. Done once you save the legal name, plus the tax registration number if the company is VAT-registered.
- Set cash rounding: press Open Money & rounding. It shows if the company sells from a point of sale, and is done once you save a rounding value in Configuration Studio.
- Set up pay: press Open pay setup. Done once you set up your first employee's pay; you don't need it if you don't pay salaries from Sahab.
- Activate your country package: press Open country packages. It shows for a company that pays salaries from Sahab when its country has a package with statutory payroll items.
Hide an item you don't need
Press Hide next to the item. It leaves the list for you and for everyone else who sees it in the company. For example, if you don't round cash amounts, hide the cash rounding item.
Note: Add your legal details can't be hidden while the company is VAT-registered without a tax registration number, because a tax invoice must carry it.
Add your legal details
- In the list, press Add legal details.
- On the Legal details page, enter the Legal name exactly as registered. It may differ from the name your customers know.
- Enter the Tax registration number, or leave it empty if the company isn't VAT-registered.
- Press Save.
The legal name and tax registration number appear on your invoices and official documents.
Tip: Start with your items and opening balances; they're what you need to sell with correct numbers from day one.
