Batches and serial numbers
The Batches & serials page lists every batch and serial number you received, with the stock on hand and the expiry date.
This article is still being written: it explains what the screen is for, and its steps are not written yet.
Some items are tracked by batch, such as food and medicine, or by serial number, such as phones. You find every batch and serial number you received under Inventory → Batches & serials, with the stock on hand and the expiry date. From the same page, open Near expiry to see the batches whose expiry date is coming up.
The owner or the manager chooses how an item is tracked in the Traceability field of the item form. In Configuration Studio → Tracking and stock limits, the company decides which batch leaves first and whether expired batches can be sold. The page is open to anyone whose role holds the Batches & serials permission, which the owner and the manager have by default.
